न चोरहार्यं न च राजहार्यं न भ्रातृभाज्यं न च भारकारी।
व्यये कृते वर्धते एव नित्यं विद्याधनं सर्वधन प्रधानम्।।

भावार्थ:
ज्ञान का धन कोई चुरा नहीं सकता, राजा उसे नहीं ले सकता, वह भाइयों में बाँटा नहीं जाता, बोझ नहीं होता, खर्च करने से बढ़ता है। वास्तव में शिक्षा ही धन है।

The acquired knowledge cannot be stolen by any thief, nor can it be taxed by the king or the government. It can neither be divided amongst siblings, nor is it heavy to carry. The more we spend it (in teaching others),  the more we learn day by day. Knowledge is the most prestigious of all possessions

Our great ancestors have defined knowledge as the most prestigious virtue but what is true knowledge?  ….the one that a student learns to get good marks…..No ..True knowledge could only be attained by seekers in ancient times. In modern era the right kind of education that adorns a child with real knowledge is the one that he/she understands, assimilates and is able to use critically and innovatively.

At OSDAV we try to equip our children with education that nurtures their innate talent, equips them with 21^st century skills, exposes them to situations that encourages them to adapt and adjust to their environment and contribute to its enrichment. Guided by the ethos of DAVCMC, we work hard to  provide a holistic education by homogenizing the western knowledge while remaining anchored to the Indian cultural moorings and  develop individuals who are morally upright, intellectually well-informed, socially concerned, emotionally balanced, physically well-developed and culturally accomplished.

  I am delighted and hopeful that my students also will leave no stone unturned to reach the zenith. I believe in  the words of our revered Swami Dayanand Saraswati:

“The fitness of the pupil is shown in his love for the acquisition of knowledge, his willingness to receive instruction, his reverence for learned and virtuous men and his attendance upon the teacher.”

I wish to advise the parents to be with  their wards emotionally and psychologically and help them understand the difference between right and wrong as rather than keeping them protecting them against negative influences. This will empower them, make them confident and help them take right decision in the hour of crisis.

Together we may give our students roots to grow and wings to fly.
